Kaiseum Terakoya
Please keep silent when you play the audio guide in the museum.
This area is called "Kaiseum Terakoya."
It has a tatami floor like Terakoya, a private elementary school during the Edo Period. It is the place where children learned basic skills such as reading, writing, and calculation using an abacus. Every Sunday, here we have the interactive learning event called "Let's play! Let's learn! Terakoya Square," offering various ways of learning history and culture through traditional children's games, simple handicrafts, Japanese picture-story shows, and other activities.
